About Me

Howdy! I’ve been a photographer on and off since 1998. I don’t make a living from it, but maybe it will be what I do after I retire.

I had been in the process of adapting my vintage lenses for use with digital cameras when I had to move to San Jose, where my apartment was too small to indulge my love of photography. Now I’m back up the peninsula and have space to start again.

Most of the images in my portfolio are vintage-inspired portraits. Not looking to recreate the look, but to recreate the feel and glow of classic glamor. Rather than go digital, I’ve decided to adapt my large format vintage lenses to medium format cameras and hope to test on new subjects soon. Different size film, more frames in a session, hopefully the same look.

In addition to the vintage-inspired portraiture, I have shot a series of abstract nudes on the now-defunct Polaroid Type55 film. I might resume shooting nudes in the same style on 4x5 regular film, if I can find a volunteer, Also, in some of the images the model is not nude, but her clothes are cropped out. See if you can tell which are which. There’s a spectrum of what can be accomplished if you’re not ready to go full nude.

Finally, I lost track of the names of several of the people who posed for me over the years. If you see anyone who is uncredited and you recognize them, let me know so I can give them the credit they deserve.

Anyhow, enjoy these images. If you like what you see, drop me a line and maybe we can work together.
