My career is a happy amalgam of the things that have always been my passion: theater (especially Shakespeare), film, fashion, style, pop-culture. At the University of Michigan, I earned a degree in theatre from the Residential College, focusing on both performance and costume design.

In my first three years as a costume designer, I’ve been fortunate to have collected a wide range of experience designing and constructing for numerous films and theater projects. As a designer I have worked with Academy Award winner Marlee Matlin, Nia Long, Danny Glover, William Atherton, Ray Park, Faran Tahir and Dominic Rains, among many others. As a set costumer and wardrobe supervisor, I have been able to work with designers such as Danny Glicker (Milk, Up in the Air), Mona May (Clueless, Enchanted) and Rebecca Bentjen (Iron Man, Garden State) and with many actors, including Kim Cattrall, Brian Dennehy, Topher Grace, Jenna Fischer, Chris Messina, Malin Akerman, Rob Schneider, and Jenna Dewan.

I still love to design for theatre, but I’m almost always busy with film and have been incredibly lucky to be able to work with so many talented people. Within the past two years I have designed five feature films, and supervised another, in addition to commercials and music videos. I’m truly hoping the pace keeps up; I love being busy, and apparently don’t like sleep too much.

In both theatre and film, I’ve been able to work on a tremendous number of incredibly creative projects. From supernatural creatures and action heroes in Jinn, to a middle-class Muslim family in MOOZ-lum, to a multitude of period costumes for theatre, and zombies filling a high school, I am drawn to creative, challenging projects. I adore research, and revel in creating authentic, historically accurate and real-feeling costumes, using texture, color, aging, and small details to help directors create the world they envison and to help actors inhabit that world .

I also work on music videos (including videos for Sean Forbes, Ben Daniels, and Big Sean, signed on Kanye West’s label, G.O.O.D. music), commercials (Merillat Cabinets, ProGold Network), photoshoots (collaborating a lot with photographer Nicole Ladonne) and occasionally perform personal shopping and styling for private clients.

I am currently based out of Chicago, but often travel to Detroit and New York City, and am available to travel anywhere for work.
