I began using photography as an art form in 1972, while completing a BFA in the Departments of Fine Arts and Design at the University of Kansas.  At that time I received my first photography, photorealistic drawing and sculptural portrait commissions.  Over the years, I've won various international, national and regional awards and commissions for my art and photo art works, including juried exhibitions in which my work received positive reviews from West Coast art critics. Recent awards include 1st place and Accolades of Excellence at Wedding and Portrait Photographers International, two Kodak Gallery Awards for Photographic Excellence, and awards at Kansas Professional Photographers Association for Best Technical Excellence, Best Story Telling and a special Judges Award for photographic excellence.

Samples of my photography are available on display at my studio and on the covers of the Summer and Fall 2009, the Winter and Spring 2010 and the Fall 2011 issues of Hutchinson Magazine, in the Fall 2011 issue of Kansas Magazine and on my Facebook page, Brian Lingle Photography.

Earning a Masters degree in Psychology in 1983 with an emphasis in the Expressive Arts, I've taught in public schools and universities and presented workshops on the creative process at national Expressive Arts Conferences. 

I am a past member of the the American Photographic Artists Guild, Wedding and Portrait Photographers International, and the Kansas Professional Photographers Association - member of the Board of Directors in 1987.
