All of my life I have been surrounded by and have created Art. Music, literature and all the visual arts have filled my home and my heart. History and science has been interwoven into the tapestry of my life’s experience as well.

Culture and history permeate my artwork. These themes manifest themselves most frequently through Hip-Hop culture, Pan-African history, Pittsburgh’s local and regional history, and an array of cultural icons from diverse eras, locales and endeavors.

My process of creating art begins with a gestural study, then I experiment on the artwork, alternating between adding and subtracting selective detail, leaving areas of the original sketch undeveloped, aiming to create sensitive and emotional, yet subtle images which possess a fascinating interplay between structure and spontaneity.
