YK is the needle in the hey stack. From the studio to the business, hands down, with his constant work ethic and focus. I can see him going to the top. Alot of talent. Designs, musician, producer, writer, business, market... he is coming through the door with any one of them talents if not all. Watch him work. Born in Baltimore city same year of the raising cocaine trade in Maryland. 1986 was not just the raised of hardship for the city but also the birth of James "Young Knowledge" Perry. Raised in Maryland's capital Annapolis project By-Waters townhouses. YK knew at first hand the troubles soon to face him. Growing up without a father was common around him. Watching his D.C. born single mother work more than one job was also common to him. YK his share of moving from Annapolis to Glen Burnie to Baltimore MD. At a young age YK moved to the urban townhouse community of Pioneer City Severn MD. Him, his sister, his mother and her then boyfriend stayed in drug infested Arwell ct. of Pioneer City which is known for it's guns, drugs and murders. The most feared section of Pioneer City. Having a mother that worked mostly left a chance for young YK to rome the streets of Pioneer City. Music always been a gift and hobby as him, his cousin and friends would enjoy making music over karaoke and talk boy recorders. A month after 9/11 YK moved to East Baltimore for a year there where he aimed a big percent of his life into music from a failed trip to Pioneer City. A trip that worked out for him by ending up at Mars Music music store where he brought a recording program Acid 2.0 Though moving back to Pioneer City took advantage of his surroundings and turned it into music making a name for himself far his street backgrounds. After moving to Brooklyn MD due to family problems and eviction threats YK found it hard to focus on recording in his gang surrounded neighborhood. A fall back into the street life he did in tell new friends from Baltimore shared the same passion saw his vision. He took advantage of the city to do shows and sell mix-tapes. As he made sacrifices and made trips to NYC to follow his dream. YK knew he was the leader of his goal being that he never been a follower.
