About Me

Somewhat reclusive but damn good photographer interested in photographing interesting people. My past work is mostly music-related, including numerous major label and independent album covers & more magazine work than I can recall off the top of my head. Recently, I've provided architectural photographs for a book on the wonderful Guardian Building in Detroit.

My work with models is more about form than cheesecake-style "glamour shots." Yup, I can shoot portraits and modeling portfolio work but my own pursuits are more abstract. I'll leave the Penthouse/Maxim/Jet-magazine-booty-of-the-week, and cheesy pseudo-porn for others. I love cars, and I love guitars but another nude woman with a guitar or hotrod? Come on, now... Still, if you're dead-set against all nudity, you'll be dead-set against working with me as well (nudity means showing more than bare elbows, knees, and feet). Us photographers aren't all perverts and would-be rapists. Some of us just like to work with anatomy, that's all. Therefore, please be over 18 years-old. And under 80, unless you have legs like Tina Turner.

Trades for time are welcome so long as you're willing to work on my ideas in addition to having time for yours. If you just want photos for and of yourself, I suggest you hire me. I'm waaaaaay past the point of needing to build my portfolio.

My view of models is that they have to be actresses as much as models. While experience isn't an absolute necessity, if you are reluctant to or can't follow instructions, if you don't bring any enthusiasm to the shoot, the photos will look like crap. Well, YOU will look like crap. The photos will still be good so we'll have good photos of a crappy model, which won't do either of us any good. Drink a Pepsi or a glass of wine, chow down on some pixie sticks, and be ready get into it. I promise not to pose you with a gun or naked on a car just because everyone else thinks that's so freakin' hot.

I don't prefer a particular type of look in a model but I tend to prefer a "clean canvas." Natural looking. You don't have to Napalm your body (if ya know what I mean) but if you are excessively tattooed or have railroad spikes stuck through your body, I'd have to pass unless you can show me there's some compelling reason to work with you. In the end, I don't care about having thousands of friends on here, I'd just like to find a few good models who are inspired to make interesting photographs.
