My name is Michael Quinn Pizarro, and I am a third generation artist. My grandfather, Roberto Pizarro, was a well-known artist in Los Angeles in the the 1950′s who had a shop on Olvera Street.  I never had the chance to meet him, but growing up, my dad showed me my grandfather’s work, which influences me today. You can say it runs through our blood.
A lot of my work is done on skateboards that I get them from a distributor.  The boards have slight defects in them and come blank, so I get to start from a blank canvas while also keeping the boards from being wasted.  I grew up riding them and have always been fascinated by the art on them; in my eye girls with tattoos seem to work well on the boards.  I enjoy working on them, and the boards always are pushing me to try something new with them. I don’t limit myself to just skateboards; I try to paint anything that looks interesting to me.
I have been an artist for sometime now, and  I don’t have an elaborate story about my life and what makes me draw. I do know that I absolutely love to draw. And I hope  you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy creating it.
