Friends (46)About Me
I'm selfish as an artist, I make the pictures I'd like to see. I view the world as a series of images, sometimes connected other times disjointed, something like dream's logic but no reason. I love taking items OUT of context, things that make people stop and look and, (hopefully), think.
I started taking photos at a young age, kindergarten when my family spent the summer in New Haven, Connecticut, my parents gave me an old Kodak 110 film, I was also entranced with National Geographic magazine they offered beautiful images from exotic places that I could only dream of. I was always more captivated by the portraits of the people I saw. The tribal people in very colourful paint on bare skin, or the Kayan Lahwi with their necks elongated. My main tools that I use are a Canon digital SLR, and a Mamiya medium format film camera. They both serve very particular and different uses. Nearly everything seen at the gallery was shot with digital, however I love the purity of film and am further exploring what I can accomplish with it. The future of my art I can't say, and I enjoy that, I enjoy being surprised by what life offers me. I would love to be able to create memorable portraits for myself as well as the person on the other side of the lens. Verified Credits (0)Worked with Michand Studio?
