About Me

By Origin, El Salvador was originally called Cuzhcatl by the Pipil, which in Nahuatl means "the land of precious things," and on October 16, a precious soul was born to Salvadorian and Costa Rican decent; Consuelo Dee. Consuelo Dee is the youngest of five children. As a young child, she would often travel back and forth between Costa Rica and El Salvador. Her father spent most of his life as an officer in the Costa Rican Army, and also owned his own textiles manufacturing company creating clothing for the Army. Obviously, Consuelo Dee gained her fashion sense and her unconsious desire for modeling in part to her dad’s influence. Her mother was primarily a stay-at-home mom and the nuturer and care giver to Consuelo Dee and her sisters and brother.

At age 7, Consuelo Dee would travel between The United States and El Salvador. At age 11, the USA became her pemanant residence. She went on to spend a great part of her pre-teen and teenage years vigorously learning American History, and Language skills in school. Her hard work paid off as she became a translator for the US Court System, and was very instrumental in assisting the judicial system in many cases. Consuelo Dee’s personality, communication, dedication, and strong work ethic while working in the Judges Chambers was recognized by  different organizations, specifically The Department of Social Services that were in need of a bilingual professional to help their officers. Consuelo Dee graciously accepted the position. “I saw this as an opportunity to help families, particularly Hispanic families.” Although she was instrumental in providing a lot of help to families, Consuelo Dee was even more saddened by the many stories of neglect and abuse that she witnessed while working for Social Services. It was these stories that urged Consuelo Dee to become more involved in Philanthropy work. “I became very sad and emotional seeing kids that were abused and neglected. It became to much to witness. I wanted to bring positivity to people,” and with that one powerful statement, Consuelo Dee began to work in a variety of areas. One area in particular became dear to Consuelo Dee. She wanted to help increase the awareness of Breast Cancer within the Hispanic Community. She began to pursue a career with the Breast Center providing education, awareness, and assistance to Men and Women utilizing her bilingual skills to help Doctors effectively communicate to patients.

A MODEL IS BORN!

Working with Breast Cancer Patients may sound like the most unlikely place to gain interest in a modeling/Acting career, but it did just that for Consuelo Dee. Her work with Jerry’s Kids, St. Judes Church, countless Walk-A-Thons, and Breast Cancer was definitely a direct result of her mother’s nuturing and life as a care-giver, but what would ressurect her dormant fashion and entertainment gene? Well, as the only Hispanic worker in the Breast Center, Consuelo Dee often found herself being interviewed and the centerpiece at fundraisers and other awareness rallies and events for the Center. Her picture would often end up in the local papers and circulars. “One day while working on a testing initiative for the Breast Center, a photographer gave me her card and suggested I contacted her about modeling. Originally, I didn’t pay any mine to it.”

Fortunately, Consuelo Dee did pay it some attention, and on the suggestion of a close friend, went to John Casablanca for a meeting. The casting directors were totally enamored with Consuelo Dee’s personality, vigor, and ability. They immediately wanted to sign her to an agreement. After that, things began to happen quickly for the Costa Rican/Salvadorian beauty.

She began to be cast in countless Fashion and hair shows, promotional modeling gigs, and small film and television roles. She even played an extra in the Box Office Hit, Wedding Crashers and was cast in a Ledos Pizza Commercial. Acting became her first love, but she equally had a hunger for modeling. Consuelo Dee hooked up with Designer Photographer Frank Antonio in New York City. The images caught the attention of several magazines including Omigawd, Batchelor, and DimePiece. Next, she began to work with Import Eye Candy Studios which caught even more magazine acclaim.

Consuelo Dee admits that she still has some maturation in the Modeling and Acting arenas, but her dedication, steadfastness, and humility has proved to be a great asset to herself and securing more roles and work. She has even been imortalized in a comic book as a bad ass mercernary agent. Consuelo Dee continues to reinvent herself and has proved to be a professional, talented, very beautiful asset to any set, film, music video, or endeavor. Just what you would expect from a gem of Nahuatl "the land of precious things."
