About Me

I do fashion aiming to achieve the character and artistry found in the best portraiture, and commercial portraiture with a fashion flair.

I always welcome any and all escorts, work with assistants, MUAs (makeup artists), site, costume, and prop rentals, stock a wardrobe, and do entirely in-house, extensive post-processing.

NOTE: I still do some TF*, but prints do cost extra, and after shooting over a thousand subjects over the last ten years, and building a more substantial commercial profile, I only do trades with models who communicate well and have something special to offer.

But don't be shy about asking! I am especially always looking for great new faces of both genders. And of course paying customers! I always try to provide realistic and helpful advice to clients to help them further their modeling careers.

My preferred method of communication is email [email protected] . I do negotiate discounts for students or others who are clearly too needy to pay my full rack rates.

If you are under 18, please be sure your parent or guardian is on board from the beginning, and willing to accompany you- and have them contact me first.

"The first photographer I ever worked with. He provided me with some excellent head shots for the modelling agency I was with. He brought along a female assistant to make sure that I was comfortable as it was my first professional shoot. I would definitely recommend him." Read less

"Mac Moss is one of the best studio photographer I've ever worked with! He owns his own place, which is a nice change as opposed to finding enough space in a random building to set up lights, backdrops, etc. He's great with instructing poses and is very generous with advice in the modeling field! I highly recommend working with Mac!" Read less

Credit Notes

MPA Photographics was established in 2000 in Greensboro, NC. We have shot many hundreds of models through MM and in coordination with all the regional agencies.

More recently, my fashion work has been consistently ranked in the top 20 on photo.net, the world's largest photographers' site, won multiple 'Showcase Awards' on One Model Place, and won 'Photo of the Day' here on MM. I  have taught photography at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and do private Photoshop, digital photography, and studio lighting mentoring.

Before venturing into portraiture and fashion, I did primarily photojournalism, fine art street, and landscape photography, and I try to incorporate what I have learned from those experiences.

Over four decades of passion for photography I have built and managed rental darkrooms in Boston, worked in medical research imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital, organized and participated in a variety of exhibits, including the traveling exhibit of Eastman Kodak, SECCA, the Silver Gallery, the Center for Creative Leadership, and had one man shows in Chapel Hill, Boston, High Point, and Greensboro. I have had my editorial work published internationally via AP and UPI, and have had images featured most recently used as romance book covers for Amazon Kindle, in Dove ads, dozens of corporate Web sites, and salons around the world.
