I've learned  that powerful emotion has no recipe,
it's often spontaneous and unpredictable.
Happening when the right two people are in the right moment.
Most often there are barefeet and flushed cheeks
and possibly an old dress or a twisted tree with branches full of that
effortless green that only nature seems to produce.

I call it "The Squish"
The need to cry and sing out over the lovliness of some thing.
When a moment is so positively right that doubt ceases to exist
and your body tells you, this is it.
this is all of it.
this is everything.

I'm really only interested in making Squish photographs anymore.
