Enter your best work and vote for your favorite image! The Daily Picture of the Day Original Edition winner will be posted at the top of the thread and on the Red/Green Beginning/End-of-day banner daily post.

Please try to make entries from Golden Beginning/End-of-day banner (around midnight EST) to Noon PST and vote from Noon PST to the Gold Beginning/End-of-day banner (around 9 PM PST).

VOTING CLOSES at: 4:00 AM, GMT,  |   5:00 AM, Casablanca,  |  8:00 AM   Moscow,  |  12:00 AM, Eastern Time,  |  11:00 PM, Central Time,  |  9:00 PM, Pacific Time,  |   7:00 PM, Honolulu,  |  1:00 PM, Tokyo,  |  4: PM, Sydney,  or shortly thereafter at the discretion of the contest staff.

Please make every effort to cast your vote by Midnight Eastern Time.  All voting officially ends when the Gold Beginning/End-of-day banner is dropped, with no votes for a given day counted afterwards.




1.  You may only enter an image that you were directly involved in creating as the photographer, model, makeup artist, stylist, Photoshop wizard, or other creative-team member. 
If the copyright holder requests that an entry be withdrawn from competition then the image and any votes it received will be disqualified.

2. No unnecessary discussion, debates, or critiques. Let's keep talk to a minimum, filling these pages with images and not dialog.

3. Do not re-enter any image that has appeared in the Picture of the Day during the past 15 days or the image will be disqualified.

4. When voting click quote under the image you wish to vote for.  Below the quote please use the word VOTE, so you don't confuse your vote with just a comment such as "This is cool" or "I really like this one".

A given individual may enter only ONE IMAGE per day and may VOTE only once per day.  Entries must be a single image. Multiple images, even those combined to form a thematic series, are prohibited.  Images may be of any subject: people, dogs, cats, butterflies, bridges, most any photography not prohibited by Model Mayhem's mature image guidelines is acceptable.

If you enter this contest, you are required to VOTE. Activity is really what makes this work. If you do not vote you will forfeit any possibility of a win, especially in the case of a tie. Three on more acceptable entries are required before voting will open. If this number has not been met by 12: noon PST, submissions will remain open and voting will commence the following  day. 

The day's voting ends at or shortly after Midnight, 12:00 AM Eastern Time. The precise end of voting is marked by the BIG GOLD End/Beginning of Day banner.  No votes for the day are counted after the banner is dropped. 

Ties between two images will result in two winners. In an event of a three-way or greater tie: If only ONE participant votes, that member will Win! If nobody or everybody tying votes, a tie breaker will be given by the host or by a random, volunteer host.

There must be a minimum of 3 entries before voting opens

5. Individuals that participated in the creation of an entry may not vote for that image. These individuals include photographers, models, makeup artists, stylists, and Photoshop wizards.  Such votes will be disqualified.

6. NO VOTE STACKING!!! In all fairness to contestants and others, please don't impose upon others to vote for your entry.  If indicators of collusion are present in the voting the subject entry may be disqualified at the Host's option.

7. An image that has previously won First-place in any Picture of the Day contest cannot be entered or re-entered in this competition.  Such images are automatically disqualified. This includes derivative works as well as a different cropping. 

8. If your image has been posted for more than a few minutes then DON'T change it.

9. Please post your image only once on the day that you enter it.  Contestants are not permitted to BUMP images.  Such images will be disqualified.

10.  No mature (18+) images or links as defined by Model Mayhem's image guidelines * NOTE: This is at the discretion of Model Mayhem Moderators and the Picture of the Day OE staff. 

Additionally, the Picture of the Day OE (POtD) staff reserves the right to disqualify any image at their discretion and without explanation!

The POtD OE is viewable by the public.  If your entry is mature or questionable your entry may be disqualified and removed from view.

11. The Picture of the Day OE staff reserve the right to disqualify entries at their discretion.

12. The Picture of the Day OE staff may temporarily suspend or permanently ban from the contest any individual who flagrantly violates contest rules or is disruptive.  Such individuals may not enter their work, have others enter their work, or vote in the contest.  This may be done without prior notice.

13. Current Picture of the Day OE rules are posted here.  By entering an image in the competition you agree to participate by the rules as posted at the start of that day.  Rules may be modified, added, or dropped without notice.

"This contest is purely a member-run activity and does not carry with it any monetary value or equivalent prizes.  It is run purely by the contest host and is not moderated or monitored by the broader site moderation/administration team. All disputes, issues, complaints associated with the contest must be directed at the contest host only.  The choice to partake in the contest is voluntary and Model Mayhem will not be held responsible for your participation or actions as a result of your participation".
