I'm fairly new to MM and i got a reply to a casting that is for "Atmosphere models" I'm not sure what to expect the man that is in need of models is hosting a house party at his mansion and wont give out the location until the day of the party. Hes also going to pay 1000, i told him i was 17 and he was perfectly fine with it. Should i trust this?

I would not commit to an unknown location.

"Modeling" at a "house party" isn't any place for a 17-year-old. And probably not for any serious model.

I googled the term and this came up:

At 17 you are clearly too young to be at a party where alcohol and who knows what else will be provided. "Atmosphere Models" is the term given to pretty girls to socialize and entertain rich men at private events and there may be pressure to drink and participate in other adult activities.

Welcome to the Mayhem hienvy

scary

The picture above is pretty much how I feel about this offer. Looking at your stats, you should be signed with a big agency. So find out the times for a go see or open casting in the closest big city.

Good ways to network are on the banner bar at the top of all MM pages: browse, castings, and forums.

Browse for photographers in your area and leave comments on images you like, send a friend request (click on heart icon on profile page) or private message (click on envelope icon on profile page in the upper right corner - mouse over the icons for a description). Start a list of photographer's photos that you think are top notch for photographers in your area. This can become something of a Rolodex. Make sure that you select the Advanced Options and select an appropriate Logged in within:. I typically use 30 days, but you may want people who respond faster. Otherwise you will get photographers who haven't logged in in over a year. There are a lot of inactive accounts.

Post an availability notice letting people know that you are available (under the castings tab). You are announcing your availability to work on other people's projects. This is for when you want to charge other people money. You can offer trade as well.

Search for Casting Calls in your area based on criteria you select. Post a Casting Call letting people know about an idea you have and want to put into a work of art. This is for when you are willing to pay other people. You can offer trade as well.

Find the talent and resources you need on Model Mayhem

Make an announcemnet. Look on the front page for members offering comments for comments, and comment on their photos. Also make an announcement yourself.

Post a bulletin by going to My stuff > bulletins. Friends can see the bulletins you post.

Be active in the forums, but avoid trolls who start threads just to watch the ensuing flame war. Avoid threads that beat the deadhorse over GWC's, flakes, escorts, ..., etc. Use the forum search to look for posts on your topic. Make positive constructive comments. Whenever you get published, add some new photos, or accomplish anything in general, post an announcement in the Accomplishments, Achievements and High Fives forum. When people see your forum post the first thing they see is your avatar. It has to be interesting enough for them to want to click on it and look at your portfolio.

Share your other accounts on the Social Media User Name Sharing Thread.

Rinse and repeat.

Good luck in your search!

You have no idea how rare your stats are. Drop into the largest agencies and ask how you can get representation.

Skip the atmosphere model thing for reasons stated above.

Hailey,
You have every chance to become a true-blue supermodel and, like said above, what you should do is get representation from a top modeling agency.

One example is Ford Models (there are others of very high reputation, but Ford is what I thought of first):

Apply here:
http://scouting.fordmodels.com/general/

Ford Models in Miami:
1665 Washington Ave 3rd Fl Miami Beach, FL 33139.
Phone number (305) 534-7200

And with a bit of luck your face will soon be here:
http://models.fordmodels.com/models/189

All the best to you!       smile

NumaeID -- very good of you to post the contact information for her. She hasn't checked back into the site but I certainly hope she checks in with a few of the top agencies, right away.

I hope she takes heed and listens to the good advice.  Hailey, you have plenty of time to grow up in this industry. Get good people around you that want to see you succeed and be safe!
