I got a message on MM to email [email protected] for information on a paid shoot.
I did and they said something about sending an advanced payment and then the shoot is April 11 & 12th.

Should I take it or no?

Did they send you a big check, tell you to keep some and forward the rest to a third party?

Yes, scam.

Report the MM account:
https://www.modelmayhem.com/contactamod

Also there is a place on the MM message that you can click to report it.

Note that they want you to contact them off of MM because they expect to get kicked off soon.

MM message saying to email someone else = SCAM
Supposed company rep at an "outlook" email = SCAM (or Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail)
Advance pay = SCAM SCAM SCAM
Supposed pro magazine shoot with an untried newbie in just 2 weeks = SCAM  (A real magazine would not use
an untried newbie and would have more lead time for shooting.)

Same decades old Nigerian Scam!!

In future, do NOT respond by email until you know more and BEFORE you have asked here.

AS mentioned above, report the original member to Mayhem using Contact a Mod (even if they have already been kicked off Mayhem)

Remove Your Email From Your Profile!!! It is visible to every scammer in the world! It is an open invitation to them. Do not trust unsolicited outside emails! Do not reply to any of the many that you will now be getting!!
