It's funny that you'd say that ... That's the only picture that *is* edited (outside of cropping and rotating).  Thank you, though.

Believe it or not, this picture isn't cropped (not in post, anyway). I shot this a couple of years ago and only after the fact (and through critiques on here) did I realize her fingers got cut off, her legs are cut at the knees (things I didn't know I wasn't supposed to do) and what I see in my viewfinder isn't necessarily what I'm going to get.

I'll get 99% of what I see, but it's the minute details on the very edge that could go either way. So ... I've learned to capture more than what I think I need and crop in post as deemed necessary.

I found it amazing what little things I could pick up through critiques on here, even if they weren't directed at me.

For those who don't know, there is a thing called the Heisman Trophy. It's an award given to the person deemed the best player in college football. This young lady wasn't familiar with it at all, either. In my explaining to her what I wanted her to do, she just couldn't get it "right". We were spending a lot of time on a "fun" picture instead of doing what we were supposed to be doing (she is/was a singer and we were supposed to be getting something for her debut CD cover) so I went with this version though it's not technically correct.

If you meant to link to the swimsuit model, that's not a road, believe it or not. It's a rocky area that leads out onto a beach. It was a little dangerous, especially with her in high heels (that I eventually asked her to take off).

I didn't skip you. I promised to add a picture to my list and/or leave a comment on a picture. I did that.  Some pointed out my best and/or worst picture (their opinion) but didn't say why. I wanted to know so I had to respond to them. It's not personal or even cry worthy (IMO).

The light is much too harsh.  It looks too much like a snapshot.
That's a good test for you to use.  Just ask yourself "Does look like some random photo someone had developed at Kmart?"

Fortunately or unfortunately, I think you're right. The light (though mostly natural) is much too harsh.  I'll replace this image with a different one from that series. I don't know why I didn't pick the "new" one in the first place but I guess time and experience probably have something to with it.
