WOW... the moderation on this 'Outside US' forum is seriously lacking.  Several 'no dates/no locations' posts all over this forum... model casting calls even posted... with nothing being done... roll

mmm. The price for the  2013 inner cabin for two was about $1600 a few weeks before sailing, so paying that for an extended balcony seemed reasonable.
If I bring a girlfriend AND a model, I'll split cost of an inner cabin for the model with another photog. Then I'll have a reflector assistant.
Changing topics. I need a new camera before this cruise. Considering Nikon D800 or the DF. The DF is the retro style with the better sensor like the D3. Last year I was thinking D600 (now D610) but now aiming higher. I'm still using a D5000.

Hey Bob... if all you have are Nikon DX lenses... 4 other fantastic cameras to get are the Nikon D7000, Nikon D5200 (I have one), Nikon D5300, and Nikon D7100... all significant upgrades from the D5000... especially the D7100.

If you do have some FX lenses, don't hesitate on the Nikon D600/D610... got one of these too... LOVE IT!

Let me know when you book your cruiseboat photoshoot ticket... prices are REDICULOUSLY low right now and all you need is a $200 deposit to reserve you and your model's cruise tickets... seeya in November... borat

Wanna attend this cruiseboat photoshoot?  Photographer cost for both you and your selected model is less than $700, with 4 easy payments available.  Contact Jessica at 800-819-3902 Ext-85395  Tell her you'll be attending with Select Models photoshoot group and she will give you a free cabin upgrade... borat

https://sphotos-b-sjc.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc1/999420_10201157149562219_2104384853_n.jpg

The 'Carnival Miracle' cruiseship will be the host sailing ship for this funfilled event.  This will be the 6th 'cruiseboat photoshoot' I've attended, and the 5th one I've organized.  It's a 6 day 'Cruiseboat Photoshoot' docking at picturesque Cabo San Lucas and Puerta Vallarta, Mexico.  If you're looking for someone who really knows how to put together some great shoots on this venue, THIS is your cruiseshoot.  The current ticket price for this cruiseshoot is a ridiculously low $324 each (interior cabin).  Photographers will be required to purchase 2 tickets totaling $648, one for you and one for your sponsored model.  Once you are on board the ship, it will be easy to swap rooms between models and photographers, if that is your intention.  Here's the link for ticket purchasing details, and make sure you contact Jessica at 1-800-819-3902 (ext 85395)  http://www.carnival.com/BookingEngine/S … ompare=PFA

This will be a 'one to one' photographer to model ratio event.  Cabo San Lucas and Puerta Vallarta (see images below) are hands down the most beautiful beaches on Mexico's Pacific coast.  This cruiseship has 2 nightclubs that are ROCKIN every night, resulting in MASSIVE funtimes when not shooting.  Cameras also welcome inside nightclubs.  There's also FREE entertainment and comedy shows every night.   The 2 scheduled on ship photoshoots will be conducted in the late afternoon and early evening at on-board locations reserved by 'guest services' on the ship.

ATTENTION INTERESTED PHOTOGRAPHERS:  Unlike cruiseboat photoshoots organized by others, this event provides ZERO profit to the promotor. You DO NOT pay me, you purchase your discount cruise tickets directly from Carnival Cruiselines at a discounted rate.  Each photographer attending MUST also purchase a cruise ship ticket for the model of his (or her) choice.  And because it's YOUR model selection for this event, you are not forced to shoot a model that some organizer decides to invite without your input.  Photographers must also allow other photographers to shoot their invited models, who will in turn allow you to photograph their invited model, providing all photographers with a multi-model shoot that YOU had a hand in selecting.

ATTENTION INTERESTED MODELS:  Models attending this cruiseboat shoot receive a FREE cruise ticket from their sponsoring photographer.  Any additional expenses accumulated on the cruise (bar tabs/souveniors/on shore expenses) will be YOUR responsibility.  Model releases will be included for all 4 groupshoot photoshoots within the purchase of your cruiseship ticket.  Models can also receive compensation pay by booking a few shoots on the 'Friday Paid One On Ones' day.  Models will have the right to use any photo that photographers post or use.  If you're interested in attending, please post a message on this events forum thread indicating your availablity, and photographers interested in sponsoring you will make contact.

ATTENTION EVERYONE ATTENDING:  To get on the cruiseship, you MUST HAVE either a US Passport, OR a certified Birth Certificate accompanied by a State Drivers License or State issued ID Card.  Unlike other cruiseboat photoshoots, photographers & models are welcome to invite friends on the cruise, but they MUST NOT interfere with the proceedings of the 4 planned groupshoots.  The 2 groupshoots on the ship will last a total of 3 1/2 hours each... while the 2 groupshoots in Mexico will last for approximately 4 hours.  ALL participating photographers and models on this cruise MUST attend the four groupshoots.  Models WILL NOT be compensated financially for participating in the 4 groupshoots.

Friday will be the designated 'one on one shoot day'.  One on one's may include some form of financial compensation... they may not.  It all depends upon what the model and the photographer agree upon.  There will also be NO photographers sponsoring more than TWO models, as maintaining a ratio as close as possible to 'one on one' is always best for group events.  Please post a message here if you're available and interested.

You now have ONE YEAR from the time of this posting until the cruiseboat photoshoot takes place, but DONT DELAY on making your reservations, as the ticket prices for this event WILL DEFINITELY GO UP!  I will be posting several images from many previous 'Mexican Rivera Cruiseboat Photoshoots' that I've attended, as well as a seperate section listing models confirmed, and interested in attending.  Feel free to post a message here with questions, as well as confirmation of your participation.  Hope to seeya on the Nov 2nd 'Cruiseboat Photoshoot'... borat

Gary, I got my ticket in early December!
I used the website instead of calling Jessica so I didn't get the deal. I didn't know. But it was still cheaper than waiting until Summer to book.
Camera: I have FX lenses. I got the 70-300 you have. I wish I had that last trip! The menu settings for sharpness you showed me helped a lot. The better camera is really for better LCD and viewfinder so I can see what I'm shooting better. The D5000 actually takes good pics.

Hey Gary, just booked a room with extended balcony on the top deck (note to self, don't forget the dramamine). I haven't picked a model to sponsor yet, but I figure there's plenty of time for that. Of course I ended up spending more than I had planned, but Jessica was super helpful.

I'm getting the same style of room that i had last time (and same side of the boat), but it will be on the 7th floor.  There's only 2 of them per deck... and only 1 on each side of the boat.  Meaning, the One room on the specific side is already gone on the 6th floor.   :-)
