I am a new photographer and almost through with Natalia's excellent DVD!

I decided to work on a not so great image of mine and see where I could take it.  Happy to get some feedback as you all seem to be able to spot details I miss.  I'm not overly happy with the expression, but my attempts to push it further haven't succeeded. I probably also pushed some details like the eyes too far?

Good taste in my opinion, I like it.
I personally would do a bit more cleaning around her lips and fix the color of some pink/reds around her nostrils and that would be all.
I like the eyes too smile

I like the original more.

You decided to change color and tone for no apparent reason. The changes you made to this picture make it look fake.

I would try a different approach, sorry.

technically that was very well done. i dont agree with your choice of colors though. the person now looks quite magent-aish (haha, is that actually a word?!) and the overall colors dont appeal to me much. But this is more my personal taste.

For me the eyes are a little bit too done and I would lower the opacity on them just a smidge, but that's all to personal tastes and such. Another thing I would work on is the left side of her teeth [her right side]. It's like there's teeth and then nothing - Just darkness. It throws me off, but that doesn't mean it does that to everybody.

I'm very impressed with your first retouching effort here, great work overall.

Thanks for feedback.

I tried working on the saturation and tones a bit.  Also worked the lips a bit more.  Think this is better?

I definitely like the eyes a lot better now and I love that you did fix the teeth, there isn't so much of that abrupt halt any more which is nice.

Yup, this.

The details are nicely done but the color choice, I don't like.

i rather like the original lips. they look natural and sexy. her new skin tone looks unnatural and a bit too pale. darken it up a bit?

Personally, I love the colors. It's all about personal taste I guess. The image you posted later in the thread would convince me that your worth working with and that's the point, right? Good work!!

Thanks all.  And thanks Natalia for such a great DVD!   One final adjustment.  And I realize there is no pleasing everyone, but I like this one best.
