Hey all,

Just introducing myself. As you'll see on my profile, I'm a magazine editor on two national custom consumer luxury publications. We have full fashion spreads that have big teams of stylists/editors/etc. (Thank God - I've got enough on my plate as it is), but I help with the casting on those (mostly we work through agencies on that, but sometimes new faces are used).

But on smaller edit, and for a launch we're working on, we work with new and independent models quite a bit. Magazines are targeted at upscale audiences, and cover a lot of different lifestyle areas (travel, spa, jewelry, leisure, etc etc).  I often shoot those or orchestrate the smaller shoots, though I will be the first to admit I am a nuts-and-bolts photographer, I do still like to get mood, setting lighting to produce a quality pic (then have my team expertly touch it up - thank god for them!).

Most of what I'm doing is offering paid editorial work (I will post in the casting call forum when stuff comes up). However, if I have time, I'm happy to enhance a portfolio on a TFCD basis, will also connect models with other photographers, stylists, etc, share whatever paltry insight I might have with regards to the actual real professional world, and will try hard to make sure you get your time's worth with both good images and a possible edit shot when appropriate.
