At the moment I charge $8 USD per retouch

It seems the rates go anywhere from $5-$45 for a retouch $10 or $15 being the most common.

With my current skill what do you think I should be charging?  Keep in mind that I would rather charge a little less to stay competitive, is my rate appropriate?

I'd say $10 per image... I think the reason you charge $8 is silly... The quality of your work should get you the job not the $2 discount.

I doubt I seen all your work, there for I cant really comment.  I'd offer discounts over 10 images though.

I would say you are worth $15-$20 an hour

I would definitely agree that your rate is definitely reasonable and affordable. As far as worth goes - I am no one to say, as the worth is all in the eyes of the customer and what their demand is for you to accomplish.

You need to charge what you feel you are worth, not what you think you should charge.

Why work if you are not going to get what you feel is appropriate ?
