Ok so i was chatting with another make-up artist and we were talking about how clean and organized our make-up kits are for our client work and how we wash our client brushes after each use and make sure that everything is perfect.
But in our personal kits we are kinda messy and I wash my personal brushes less as often. Which is weird because I pride myself on being a clean artist and I am parinoid and obsessive with my client stuff ,so why do I take less care with my own stuff.
Is any ones eles like this ?
Maybe I am just lazy with my own personal stuff
but i did wash my brushes today because they were getting a little scratchy. smile
And now my pesonal kit is all clean and organized again smile lets see how long it lasts smile

Hate to be the buzz kill but I am just as obsessed with my own stuff.  When I am done with a shoot or whatever I am doing, and I deep clean the brushes, I throw mine in as well.
My personal makeup drawer needs to be organized because I do my makeup before a shoot.  Not glam-o-rama, but polished.  So I need to know where everything is and it needs to be clean.  I have 3 seperate containers in my drawer: foundation/concealer/powder
eye stuff
cheek stuff

There is a seperate drawer for lips.

I am working on getting my closet just as organized.  Nothing like needing to catch a train and I can't find this to go with that.

me..... messy!---i just had this same revelation the other day...hmmm maybe washing out this stupid little loreal brush would do some good...heeee

and to add to this--- i never use my expensive stuff from my kit on myself!!??
Its all just sitting there a stones throw away from my personal drawer and yet i'm doing the whole drugstore concealer/loreal brushes thing for myself.

is this weird?

I'm just as anal with my own products. Although, I use my fingers on my own face, always. I have a very limited personal brush collection, although I have nearly 40 brushes in my kit. My makeup kit is super clean and organized.

I also have a tendancy to buy the most expensive things for myself. Make Up Forever is my favorite...thank god I have a discount. big_smile
