"Interview With Fashion Photographer Udor" [Link leads to full interview]

I have been invited five times as a guest on The American Fashion Podcast, discussing issues of the fashion industry and New York Fashion Week. Below are the links to the different episodes. Might be interesting for people interested in the fashion industry, including runway

Episode 018 – Udor (Runway Photographer) – The Right Way to Runway – THE AMERICAN FASHION PODCAST
"Udor, veteran runway photographer, joins us to talk about New York Fashion Week. Charles hits the trade shows for Market Week and comes back with lots of new Made in USA brand names to talk about. Gretchen Harnick from Parsons talks about the online fashion education community she just launched. Charles and Udor talk about what should and should not happen on the runway. Lisa’s Ralph Rucci show review transports us to a poetic realm."

Episode 036 – The American Fashion Podcast - Episode 36: NYFW Pre-Game Show Extravaganza
"Richard Spiegel (The Fashion Tribune) and Udor, both veteran runway photographers, talk past, present, and future of New York Fashion Week with Lisa and Charles in the hours before the Fall 2015 collections start rolling down the runways. What’s going on with Fashion Week leaving Lincoln Center? Mens Fashion Week coming in July? How is the Fashion Calendar CFDA transition going? … And lots of great Fashion Week “do you remember that one time when…” conversation."

The American Fashion Podcast - Episode 37: E Pluribus Fashion Week
"Reem Acra gives an exclusive interview about her new Stevie Nicks-inspired collection backstage moments before her show. Udor joins the crew at Fordham University Law School across the street from Lincoln Center between shows to talk about New York Fashion Week. Lisa continues to track the streetwear wave"

The American Fashion Podcast - Episode 65: Mickey Boardman, The Stan Lee of Fashion
"Paper Magazine's editorial director Mr. Mickey is in the studio… along with WWD‘s Media Editor Alexandra Steigrad, Manufacture New York‘s Bob Bland, and fashion and runway photographer udor. Where are print magazines going? What’s the deal with the circle of freelancers who seem to try to write for every major fashion publication? Do magazines affect designers when they’re creating a collection? Does “no” mean “not that in that form”? What’s the deal with all the intern lawsuits? How do you find opportunities to make your mark in this business? Plus, Mickey’s take on street style, style bloggers, and his favorite insult."

Fashion Week Pre-Game Show - Episode 108
"New York Fashion Week is next week, so we’ve gathered some great minds to help you get your head in the game. It’s the New York Fashion Week Pre-Game Extravaganza!

Guests in this episode include Fashion Unfiltered founder and editor Katharine Zarrella, Decoded Fashion founder Liz Bacelar, ace runway photographer Udor (Instagram), and guest host Cathy Schepis.  Fashion Week show formats continue to evolve. A few seasons ago, many in the industry were shocked at the introduction of so many presentations replacing runway shows, and there have been experiments with social media-based shows, 3D effects, and fashion films. What’s now, and what is next?"

September 11, 2001 - udor's Story & Photos

Some of my thoughts:

"I am a photographer, as such, I create photos, and shoot anything from a lobster bisque to supermodels, from promo of rappers to document events. What I don't know, I learn and rise to the challenge."

"I like fashion photography, because it documents the taste of time."

I am a photojournalist, portraitist, fashion and runway photographer in New York City. I was born and raised in Germany and live in NYC since 1992.

As early as age 11/12, my interest in photography was awakened. As a 15 years old student, I did an internship at the photolab of the largest German television network ("ZDF", now the largest in Europe). Later, I worked in that lab part time and was heavily exposed to press photographers and photojournalists.

My first professional assignment ever was to cover the World Fair in Vancouver for a German stock and photo archive (out of business for years I presume), but my education and professional path took another direction, although photography, my true passion, always paralleled any other endeavor, until I finally took the step to live full time what I think I was created to do. wink

As a freelance photographer, I am working with different media outlets and companies, most in the fashion and entertainment industry.

Among others, I am the press photographer for BTE TV (Beauty Television and Entertainment), and on the production team as well as the house photographer for USA International Fashionshows and shoot regularly for FashionLedge.com and am the creative director and photographer for "New York Girl - Style & Beauty".

Fees for portfolio work for models and actors:
A packaged deal for models and actors is available. It includes multi hour, multi location and/or studio shoot (make up artist can be provided) for $750. Those shoots run usually 4 to 7 hours.

Financial arrangements can be made in certain circumstances. I will shoot for free if I like a project that is suggested to me.

COMMERCIAL WORK:

If someone wants to utilize me for large scale commercial assignments, you can contact me directly, but the negotiations and booking will be handled by my manager/agent Marc Dlugoff, Esq.

I am also involved in the casting and production of various fashion shows, including the Champaign Fashion Brunch, Couture Fashionweek and other high fashion runway shows.

Feel free to inquire about those runway opportunities!

However you should be at least 5'8" and fit into dress sizes 0-4 to be considered. (Swimwear can be size 6)

Important:
If you inquired for a fashionshow, were accepted, scheduled and confirmed, yet you don't show up without notification. You don't need to bother asking for another chance, unless you had a VERY good reason!

A no-show at a fashionshow causes logistic problems, so, be professional!
